Production of beef through the raising of cattle is a highly profitable industry for Harper County farmers. The county has a rich history with cattle dating back to when the Great Western Cattle Trail had a main water stop near Buffalo at Doby Springs, which was then known as the Buffalo Springs.
Cattle production still remains an essential part of the Harper County economy. The Harper County OSU Extension Service strives to improve beef production by supplying farmers with accurate research information which may increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the industry. |
